babes, i’m going back to the North this week for the holidays. while i’m sad to leave CDMX, i’m excited to spend time with family and get back into my NYC routine.
a lot happened in 2024 and you can get the figurative / personal take in my last post. but i don’t want to be depressing anymore and wanted to spruce things up with a fun wrapped list of my favorite recents.
you know the drill — we’ll cover a lot of ground from music, art, to randomness. hopefully you check them out or just read this post haha.
disfruta,
ten xoxo
The Mat MX | my go-to spot for hot yoga + pilates while in CDMX. the pilates class was no joke and worth the sweat.
GNX by Kendrick Lamar | while i’m still a champagne papi fan, i need to show respect for this awesome album. fave track: hey now ft. dody6
everything on Creative Independent | been following them since inception. their content + interviews provide a realistic lens into what creativity in the everyday looks like. current fave interview: on being generous in your work with poet Ocean Vuong
Cardón MX | stumbled upon their shop in Condesa and fell in love. their selections focus on Mexican and Latin American designers. really cool styles & fits!
the movie Queer | took myself on a solo date to the Cinépolis Diana and Luca Guadagnino did not disappoint with this trippy, angsty cinematic take on William Lee Burroughs’ book. honorable mention: Omar Apollo acts in it. <3
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski | read a review of it and thought “why not?” oof, i was not prepared for this psychological thriller and actually got spooked. also geeked out on its footnotes!
Sombra Tattoo | got a new tatt here and absolutely loved it! hit my girl reeeegi up if you’re in CDMX :)
the series Shop Cats | as the resident cat mom, you know i can’t turn away a mini series about the fabulous bodega cats of NYC. the host Michella Donna is so hilarious!
NYTimes interview with André 3000 | i’m a huge fan of his and immediately digested the entire interview + performance as soon as i got the email notification. such a beautiful mind!
Duolingo | i’ve been learning Italian + Arabic for the past few months and this app was a huge help . . . even though it harasses the shit out of me lol.
Museo Jumex’s Siluetas Sobre Maleza exhibition | omg such a rich exploration into the body and territory. also it featured Ana Mendieta’s works and had a huge fangirl moment.
[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in] by e.e. cummings | a hint for what the next post will be about . . .
