gosh, it’s been a min. there was a lot going on — work, love, friendship, family — and i needed some time to recalibrate.
i’m not a stranger to taking a break, but for some reason, i’m enjoying my solitude more than expected. i’m not avoiding people or places; there’s just something precious about making time for yourself and doing the things you like to do, no matter how trivial they are.
in a future post, i’ll elaborate about my solitude and the preciousness of this time. in the meantime, let me share some things bringing me joy.

movies i saw recently
I Saw the TV Glow | saw this one on a date and what a mind fuck (?!). i’m not sure what happens at the end, but its reflections on loneliness put me in my feels.
BABES | love going on a solo date to the movies and i’m a big Broad City fan, so had to see Ilana Glazer as she navigates the known + unknowns of motherhood with humor ofc.
Notting Hill | give me a rom com during a night in and i’d eat that up! Julia Roberts in the 90s is so iconic and her “i’m just a girl” monologue tugs on my heart strings (mentally i say this to my crushes).
Poor Things | as absurd as this film was . . . it was a humorous testament about how life is your oyster and the possibilities are limitless.
Bonus: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
books i’ve read // i’m reading
Slow days, fast company by Eve Babitz | love an intellectual, nonchalant baddie — her descriptions of LA are superb.
Molly by Blake Butler | great writing, still think it’s unethical considering his wife is dead and can’t defend herself.
Exteriors by Annie Ernaux | not focused on love or desire and cementing her spot as one of my fave writers.
Sex and Rage by Eve Babitz | let’s take what she did in slow days and get a similar vibe in short story form.
Bonus: former Mexican President AMLO’s reading list

tv series filling up my everyday
Sex in the City S1 - 6 | i get why people love the show . . . i still think Carrie is a terrible friend and absolutely annoying / immature.
Baby Reindeer | felt like a psychological thriller with all the plot twists and overall storyline.
Alpha Males S1 | as much as i love a show revolving around a group of women friends, witnessing the inner lives of grown men is truly fascinating.
Bridgerton S3 | BABY, the hottest season yet — loved it all Penelope!
Bonus: Couples Therapy S4
